MDi continues to offer our customers cutting-edge, Multi-Material Hot Halves that are comprised of a dynamically-balanced, one-piece, solid manifold. These systems have MDi’s custom designed flow channels which provide optimum flow conditions throughout the manifolds.
- Eliminate part assembly
- Increased product functionality and appearance
- All manifold wiring is routed into specially designed radiused wire-channels away from the system heat source
- Replaceable heating elements on both sides of manifolds are covered with aluminum reflector plates to reduce heat radiation, while ensuring a uniform heating profile
- Compact stack height
- Double-ended guide pins are included to protect components from clamp plate installation and misalignment
MDi offers high quality, high performance systems that are durable, dependable, competitively priced and feature MDi’s innovative nozzle and manifold technology. Our Multi-material Hot Runners are also designed and manufactured along that premise.
Some benefits of using a Multi-material system
Multi-material components have been used in the automotive industry for years, often to eliminate complex assembly procedures. Nowadays, Multi-material molding of consumer products, electrical components, housings, medical equipment, leisure items and packaging components are molded with more than one color or material type. Besides the obvious esthetic improvement, functionality often dictates use of a Multi-material mold. It can be more economical to have two or more operations done in one station without moving the part from one station to another.
